Lisa Vaas’ approach to chronic and/or transitory illness began in 1965 at the age of three, when she ran screaming into the backyard to avoid insulin injections. This, it turns out, was not a sound tactic.
Her Refuse & Resist techniques evolved over the decades. At age 17 came the spinal cyst episode, involving a slow injection into Vaas’ spine and her subsequent use of the word “No.” She elaborated: “Let’s not.”
Most recently, her tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) to ward off medical torture and tyranny (T&T) were sharpened at the age of 63, in 2025, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, where she was asked by security guards whether she’d go the fuck back to her room quietly and get the fuck back into bed or if she’d prefer to be forcibly tranquilized.
Her response: “I’d like to discuss other options.”
She woke up at 3am paralyzed from the purportedly gentle, benign, teensy, weensy dose of whatever crap they injected into her shoulder the previous evening. For various perfectly sane reasons, she thought she had been airlifted to Bloomington, Indiana.
Clearly, hers is the case of a lifelong study to become a WW. She didn’t know what WW meant at the time, but Harvard lab researchers, aka My Tenants, informed Vaas that she was undoutedly suffering from having been coded as a WW.
What is a WW? It’s in the URL. Here, we will share stories of whiny women and whiny children who become whining whiny women.
I welcome you into the ranks of WWW, Whiny Women Worldwide. It’s much easier to say than Worldwide Whiny Women. I tried. It’s hard. You try.
Welcome to my whiny world, O you Whiny Woman.
